A Little Perspective....

At exactly this time last year, we were just getting home from the hospital with Kohen. I vividly remember getting home at 9:30. He was so tiny. If you think back to how long ago it was that I posted his birthday pictures, that is how long we were in the hospital. It was the longest 8 weeks of my life!!! I will never forget it. This afternoon while Kohen was crawling all over the yard, dirty as could be, I realized just how lucky we are to have such a miracle with us today. He has overcome so many obstacles throughout this past year. Sometime we forget just how blessed we are.

Worn Out

After all that swimming, they are both tired!!

He could tear up a steel ball!

Notice in the picture Brandon's sunglasses are missing an earpiece? This is what happens when you let Kohen play with them. He is so destructive!!!

Fun Weekend

Yesterday we went to Mountain View fishing. It was really nice. Kohen wanted in the water so bad. We didn't take the boat because the water was still too high and too swift. We still got to fish some off the bank. Brandon really just wanted to get away. (Truth be know, he loves to eat there.) We got back early this morning because a certain little boy woke up at 5:30 this morning. I'll let you figure out who that was!!! There is not much to do in Mountain View that early in the morning. We were the first people in our favorite restaurant. If you ever go there, Anglers has the best breakfast. (Amber, I forgot my camera!!)

When we got up from our nap we decided to go swimming. Kohen loves the pool but always puts his face in the water. I have tried everything!!! We have bought three different swim toys for him to sit in but he still puts his face in the water. I read an article about "dry drowning" now I am scared to death of it. Needless to say, we hold him most of the time in the pool.

I'll Miss You Alexis

Yesterday I went to Little Rock to bid my friend (college roomate) farewell. She is moving to San Francisco. It was so good to see her and her kiddos. They are so cute. I think Campbell could be a child model. I have never seen a two year old who behaves so well. Kudos to you Alexis!!! Even though we don't see each other that often it was still sad leaving. Good luck Alexis.

Progress

Thought I would give everyone a progress report on Kohen. He is almost 14 months old but still not walking. We are going to start seeing a new physical therapist next week. I am not that worried about it because really he is not a year old yet. Not until July 20th. It does get frustrating when that is the first thing everyone asks. When I say "NO! He is not walking yet." They get this look on their face. I don't even try to explain that he is not really a year old. Oh well, when he is ready he will walk. He is really doing great. He is so much fun and happy all the time.

Funny story: Erica and I ran a 5K Saturday. Which by the way Erica got 2nd in the womens division!!! Yea Erica!! Afterwards, she came home with me to play with Kohen. Needless to say, Kohen is a big ol' flirt. He loved Erica. He showed out!!!!! He would just laugh his goofy laugh and make his mean face at her. She could not believe he was doing all that. It was so funny.

Sam's Baptism

Last Sunday we went to Sam's baptism with Eric and Kelly. It was a very nice ceremony. Sam was so good. Kohen was good during church. I can't say that about lunch but a boy can only take so much. After luuch, Kelly and I went to Leslie's baby shower. It was nice to see everyone. Kelly got to show off Sam which was fun. He is such a good baby. I know he does not take after his daddy!!! I have some really good pictures but I am having trouble with my scanner right now. I will post them soon.

Happy Birthday!

Today I turned 29!!!! I dread the next birthday. Anyway I had a great birthday. Kohen had his first experience with a babysitter for the day. Lizzie Bell stayed with him today while I went to lunch with a friend from hygiene school. We had so much fun. It was just like we were still in college. Beth, we will have to do that more often. Lizzie probably thinks I am a crazy mom. I called 3 times, Dana came by and Mrs. Sue came over. They made it just fine. She did a great job.
